On reality TV shows all it takes is some staging and a couple of open houses and your house gets sold. Well that’s television for you. In the crazy sellers market those shows were filmed during maybe that worked.

The truth about open houses are they are buyer bait. An agent seldom gets a sale from an open house. Agents meet potential buyers at open houses but they usually don’t buy that particular house.

Here in Ocala we are in the middle of a serious buyers market. It’s not uncommon to do an open house and have no one show up. Don’t get me wrong, if you stand out in a thunderstorm often enough you might get hit by lightning. Homes do get sold this way but not very often.
